PICKLING PROBLEMS, CLOUDINESS


Product          Explanation                                
Any  pickled       Fillers added to table salt to prevent   
product            caking may make the pickling liquid      
(fermented         cloudy.  Use pure salt (pickling salt,   
or   fresh-        Kosher salt).   Note: CLOUDINESS MAY     
pack)              DENOTE SPOILAGE.  Examine pickles for    
                   other signs of spoilage (mushiness,      
                   slipperiness, off-odors, mold growth)    
                   before using.                            

Fermented          Cloudiness results from yeast and        
pickles            bacteria development during fermentation
